Still stuck on the Ground Floor!
6 weeks have gone by since the accident, a couple of sessions with the surgeon, an updated x-ray, cast came off after 2 weeks, moon boot on and off, surgeon says looking good but needs work to get me back walking.
Expecting physio to commence shortly - good that pain stopped a few weeks ago - just need to watch out I don't put weight on the foot.

What is Going on with the Neighborhood??
Now this cannot be a chance set of coincidences - the day before my accident, I learned that my good neighbour two doors down the street, (also retired), broke his ankle about two weeks prior to my accident - I reached out to him to offer my help if he needed anything. Well, that didn't get going as I can't do things for myself now. Two neighbours might be normal coincidence, but then I also learnt over a week ago that my next-door-neighbour up the street manged to fracture her ankle 3 days after my accident and is in the Moon Boot stage.
Think three is a crowd? Something in the water here at home - I spoke to my injured neighbour two homes down who said that his neighbour had a fall last week resulting in a broken ankle, bad enough that her daughter has come over to live with her until she feels better. That's four out of five neighbours in a row have broken lower limbs within a short period of time.
Guess what? Our very good neighbour next door down is in the middle - she popped in last night to let us know she is leaving the country tomorrow!
